Gayle Petrick started out as a client of Hickory Veterinary Hospital in July of 2013 and began working as a part-time receptionist a year later.
She has had dogs as pets since childhood. Her college degrees are in music and education; however, she has intertwined dog activities with her previous military music, non-profit case management, and teaching careers throughout the years. Her dogs are first and foremost beloved pets, and they train and compete in conformation, obedience, rally obedience, lure coursing, and barn hunt events. She is an AKC Breeder of Merit, complying with health testing, registration, and lifelong follow-up with every puppy from every litter she’s ever produced. She is active with Cardigan Corgi Rescue and national and regional Cardigan Welsh Corgi clubs.
Gayle started helping out with the hospital bookkeeping in April 2019 and became hospital practice manager several months later.
Gayle currently owns four Cardigan Welsh Corgis: Daphne, Luna, Duffy, and Lacey. In her free time, she enjoys dog training and showing, cheering for University of Notre Dame football teams as a lifelong fan, and would like to return to school to become a certified veterinary practice manager.
